Comedy Walks The Hague

From ‘Haagse Harrie’ to ‘Prins Pils’. The Hague is a respectable city with plenty of medical terms in its vocabulary.

You’re in for a real laugh!

Discover The Hague with a local comedian as your guide!

Maarten Vissers takes you on a tour of The Hague. A city that has long been underappreciated and is still often regarded as a village. The story of The Hague’s origins is intertwined with that of the founding of the Netherlands. Maarten takes you to places you might recognise from Monopoly. Maarten would also like to take you to the Binnenhof, but we’re unlikely to see it open to the public in this lifetime.

If you simply can’t resist, you can have your photo taken with Haagse Harrie. And you never know – you might even bump into Mark Rutte.

Interesting historical facts, unexpected plot twists and hilarious interpretations await you!

All about the route

The route in The Hague runs right through the political heart of the Netherlands. It starts at the Spui and ends at the Plein. That’s a walk of a few hundred metres as the crow flies, but Maarten has a little detour up his sleeve.

The route takes you from the peat to the sand. From ‘Hagenezen’ to ‘Hagenaren’. From power to powerlessness. Along the way, you’ll hear both entertaining and distasteful stories about politics and the Royal Family. About a city scarred by war and a misplaced wrecking ball.

Are all those stories historically accurate? Perhaps. Are they funny? That’s for sure.
