Maarten Vissers
He sees the city through a different pair of glasses – which he really ought to clean.
You’re in for a real laugh!
A special city walk with a comedian as your guide!
Maarten Vissers was born in 1990 in the left-wing, elite bubble of Wageningen. After a sheltered childhood, he was drawn to the excitement and vulgarity of the Randstad. Via Delft and The Hague, he finally ended up in Rijswijk. But as nobody books Comedy Walks in Rijswijk, he runs them in The Hague instead.
In his Comedy Walk, Maarten takes you on a journey through The Hague’s past and present. As the ‘Hofstad’ is at the heart of our democracy and monarchy, the story of The Hague is also the story of the Netherlands. And that story can be rather embarrassing at times. With his vivid, evocative language, his absurd stories and his love for the underdog, Maarten ensures that, during his Comedy Walk, you become part of this extraordinary history and city.
About the artist
Maarten has been performing comedy since 2018. He was a finalist at the Tilburg Cabaret Festival in 2024. As a comedy writer, he has co-written several productions, including *Plakshot* (VPRO) and *Taalnatie* (Tonny Media).
He doesn’t just perform on stage; he’s also one of the few comedians who’s an entrepreneur. He’s the founder of the company Humor Loont. As a ‘humour engineer’, Maarten delivers keynote speeches and training sessions on using humour as a functional tool in the workplace. He also frequently performs bespoke comedy for the business sector.

Customer focus and service are top priorities for Laura. A lot of companies could learn a thing or two from that! So, my compliments to her
